Welcome to Donnell Middle School, home of the Trojans!
Being a Trojan means we proudly wear the blue and gold that ties us to the community where every student, staff member, and family owns their part in who we are together. We rise and fall as one!
This year is exciting for many of us at Donnell because we are approaching new beginnings and a series of changes. Every person here will experience new challenges, new grade levels, new expectations; however, those changes, which can be scary, are the exciting moments that allow us to grow. Whatever challenge or change comes our way, every Trojan — student, staff, and family — is committed to moving forward, together. We are committed to showing up everyday to prepare our students to meet whatever change is waiting so that they learn to navigate transitions with confidence.
Quality education starts with character. Before we can ask our students to work hard, take risks, and reach for excellence, we have to model that character ourselves. Excellence isn't an accident; it's built through consistent habits, high expectations, and genuine care, all working together. The relationship that will be developed with Donnell students will be rooted in modeling a shared identity and knowing that Trojans are defined by the integrity of their character.
Being a Trojan also means opportunity — the chance for every student to discover what they're capable of, to be challenged, supported, and known, especially as they move through the changes ahead. Education is about creating space where practice strengthens potential, so we work to create intentional, consistent structures that begin developing students with a relationship-first attitude. Students should feel like they have ample opportunity to take safe, supported risks as they explore their interests and work on building their future-ready self.
I am excited to step into this professional change myself, and I look forward to walking alongside each of you at Donnell Middle School in this part of your Trojan experience.
